Being an MBC member has numerous advantages. At the end of your experience, you will have gained the following:


Recruiting Preparedness

Through a formalized mentorship program, members are paired with a board member who has experience in the particular industry. The board works with students to refine resumes, work on behavioral and technical interviews including consulting case studies, apply to jobs and connect members with employees are various firms. At the beginning of the term, members can subscribe to industry specific email blasts to learn more about internship opportunities at firms.


Technical Skills

Throughout the year, members will have the opportunity to develop a repertoire of skills that will help them gain an advantage for recruiting. Members will be trained to become proficient in using tools such as Excel, Financial Modelling, Bloomberg, FactSet and PowerPoint which are valuable skills across all industries.


Professional Skills

Professionalism is key in the business world. At MBC, we help members create a successful professional image through LinkedIn Workshops, Resume Critiquing Sessions and Mock Interview Sessions.



By working in a team to complete the semester long deliverable, members learn to work in teams in order to achieve a certain goal, how to best utilize each member’s strengths and to work together effectively.


An Understanding of Business

Members at MBC gain a broad knowledge of the business world, which can then be used to tackle job interviews and make career choices. Over the course of two semesters we explore the following areas:
          Finance – Sales and Trading, Asset Management, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking
          Accounting – Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Income Statement
          Marketing – Sales, Research, Advertising, Communications
          Consulting – Financial Advisory, Strategy, Operations


An Understanding of Current Events

At the beginning of each meeting, the economic events of the week are discussed. Then, they are analyzed by members with a thorough understanding of the events’ details and how they affect the market.



Meetings and social events allow members to network and create relationships. These relationships can then be leveraged when pursuing internships or seeking insight into firms. Members also have the opportunity to connect with MBC’s large network of alumni.
